A quiet night in a Laughlin neighborhood turned into a scene out of an action movie when a car careened through a residential wall, went airborne, and ejected its driver directly into a family swimming pool.
The shocking incident, which occurred around 11:00 PM on December 15, was captured in vivid detail by home surveillance cameras. The footage shows a vehicle smashing through the perimeter fence of homeowner Cletis Reed’s property. The car began a barrel roll as it took flight, eventually slamming into the roof of a pool house. In a move that seems to defy the odds, the female driver was launched from the vehicle during the roll, landing with a splash in the shallow end of the pool.
A Narrow Escape for Homeowner
Reed told FOX 5 Vegas that he had been preparing to jump into his hot tub—located just feet from the impact zone—and had only stepped inside to speak with his wife moments before the crash. “If I had been in that hot tub, I would have been killed,” Reed remarked, noting the sheer force of the impact sounded like a “freight train.”
According to TMZ, while the car sustained heavy damage after hitting the structure, the pool may have actually saved the driver’s life by cushioning her fall.
Investigation Underway
Authorities have not yet released the cause of the crash or the identity of the driver. As of Tuesday, no charges have been filed, and the investigation remains ongoing.
